I have very little to add that wasn't said yesterday. For today, I did add one additional plot, which is the cumulative deaths using a log axis. The point is to show just how well the Gompertz model has described the evolution of the pandemic deaths to date. Nearly two months ago, the model predicted where we'd be today and how we were going to get here. Will it continue? Probably not. Once the states start to reopen and loosen social distancing the conditions will change and that will break the model. IF (note the big IF) conditions remained as they are now with extreme social distancing we could probably expect daily deaths to continue to decrease, on average.
